ROP2 and TOR at the heart of the translational regulation by auxin in plants

Auxins is an essential phytohormone that regulates multiple aspects of plant growth and development. If it exerts a control at the transcriptional level, auxin is also involved in the regulation of translation. The team of Lyubov Ryabova  has deciphered the molecular mechanisms of this regulation by revealing the missing link of the signaling pathway involved: the small auxin-activated ROP2 GTPase controls the action of the TOR kinase, a key regulator of  translation.
