Kids University

Organized by the Jardin des Sciences of the University of Strasbourg, this day allows fifth and fourth graders to discover the University and the world of research. This year, although the college students were unable to make it to the Esplanade campus, the meeting with the researchers and the workshops did take place. Three IBMP thesis students came to Beatus Rhenanus College in Sélestat on June 17th. For this 2021 edition of Kids University Léna Coudray, Anne Caroline Joly and Quentin Simonnot presented the plants used in the laboratory, exposed the basics of molecular biology and offered a leaf infiltration workshop. The doctoral students explained how and why they used this technique in their research work. Each of the sessions bringing together about fifteen students, 60 college students were able to discuss with the young researchers and thus lift a corner of the veil on research and the university.
